A list apart 2008 survey

Arrived at work today and while checking the usual websites I saw that the A list apart survey for this year already started. I didn't take it last year, as I was not yet engaged in web development. Reading the results of last year's survey, some of the demographics presented were quite interesting for me and probably for others as well, as it gives you a good idea on how the industry is each year. So take 5-10 minutes of your time and answer it over at A list apart. It won't hurt :)

Internet Explorer 6 holds me back way too much

Currently I am working as a web client developer, which means I have to deal with HTML and CSS most of the time. Occasionally a little bit of JavaScript, and recently PHP too. But my motivation for this post was with CSS mainly.

New RSS feed

Just a quick note to let you guys know that I've put in a new feed that is generated automatically to save me the trouble. Please sign it using either the link at the footer of the page, or the one on the adress bar. The old one will be kept for a couple of weeks, but after that I'll delete it.

New PHP tutorial

Well, it took me a little longer than I had hoped, but not only am I updating the site, I'm updating it with a PHP tutorial that should prove useful for beginners and the like. Some more tutorials will be following in the next weeks and probably months. So go to the articles page and take a look at 'Reading a RSS feed with PHP made easy'.

Opera Web Standards Curriculum

Today Opera announced and released the Opera Web Standards Curriculum. This is a very good initiative from them which will hopefully bring the issue to light for people that don't already use web standards. The curriculum is a series of articles that explain the basis of web standards as they do an analysis of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, while also bring some other concepts to light, like color theory, accessibility and progressive enhancement.
