Changing the language of the site...
If you are reading this, you are one of the few people that even access this blog. If you never entered the site before, you'll notice a few articles below in Portuguese. This has been one of the reasons for this blog never getting any traction. I've always struggled with the language choice. At the same time that I am from Brazil and my primary language is Portuguese, everything that I read and everyone that I follow, related to the web developer world, are from other countries. So I was never really satisfied with the articles I was writing. In addition to that, for some reason, I find it a lot easier to write in English.
So, I decided to start writing in English for the blog. If it helps me to write more, all the better. But, in order to contribute to the local community, myself and a couple of friends will be opening a another site, where I'll probably post most of the articles from this site, translated into portuguese. In fact, the site is mostly ready, just waiting for some content to be written.
In the interest of keeping this short, this is pretty much it. Oh, I almost forgot, the site is currently in Drupal, which is a very nice platform, but it doesn't satisfy me in a few things. I don't have 100% control over the markup, and any new feature I want is heavily dependent on the CCK and Views modules that sometimes don't have the flexibility I want. So, I am working on a CakePHP blog to replace this. I'll probably post the progress here in the coming days and weeks.
